Back in 2001 I got myself a Liquimatic. In 2008, I bought one of the early GP290 Sport peds in production. In 2013, I got a "Ferrari" red standard Sport with the dark chocolate deck. This year, I got two of the what seemed to be the absolute last of the 3rd generation Sport! All of these hard tire scooters have a place in my heart. I do have a couple of e-scooters as well. Nothing, and I mean nothing beats the absolute thrill and excitement of mixing gas and 2-cycle oil, filling a 1-liter fuel tank, push-starting the motor to take off! At my age of nearly pushing forty, this true-to-roots hard tire Go-Ped experience will never fade away. The GPL290 engine is a great engine as it has been the power plant of the Sport longer than the G2D and G23LH motor. Its higher compression level and cylinder components are robust. After about 10 - 11k rpms, the GPL290 feels like its got some sort of VTEC up there! The Sport ped is a visceral feeling. Thank you Goped Werx and Patmont for keeping this Sport scooter in our hearts!
